After fleeing from his foster family, Khamsa returns to the gypsy camp, where he was born thirteen years ago.
Nothing seems to have changed since he was forced to leave, the late night card games, the diving in the Mediteranean sea, the rooster fights… Khamsa is home again.
Until his best friend Coyote meets Rachitique, a small time crook, with whom they start petty robberies.
Khamsa's youth and innocence will rapidly fade away as he spirals down into delinquency....
"From one film to another, it's clearly always the underprivileged, the excluded, the minorities that attract me. Maybe my own dual ancestry naturally draws me toward an ethnic mix. And that cultural mix - I should say that culture shock - almost only happens among the disadvantaged. Social injustice is also a powerful driving force that motivates me artistically. It's a source of conflict, drama, tragedy, death… and therefore life. Witnessing injustice isn't an end in itself. On the other hand, directing my gaze (i.e. my camera) toward it allows me to transform my position, my subjectivity, into cinema."
