In an alternate timeline people from The South look towards The North as a land of opportunities. When the ruling government of The North declares that a new wall be built to combat the rise of illegal immigration, the chance at a fresh start has become increasingly slim. Ezekiel lives in the South in a broken home with his mother and abusive stepfather. He works under demeaning circumstances as a servant with his girlfriend Myra. After learning that the border wall to The North is near completion, he is forced to make a painful decision with Myra to leave his family and life behind to cross into a new land of opportunity.
