Ananias Léki Dago is from Côte d'Ivoire. He is a product of urban life. The city has shaped his personality as a photographer. This is reflected upon his photographic approach which focuses on everyday life within an urban context. His photographic writing comes from a personal and free thought process. It offers a different eye or sight on the little things of life.
His travels became an essential source of his work. After his studies Ananias Léki Dago traveled to the Caribbean and to the Middle East. He also traveled through wide parts of Europe and Africa. It was in South Africa that he started his project on Shebeens in the Townships.
He has taken part in several international exhibitions.
In 2009 Léki Dago won the first Prize of PhotoAfrica context in Spain with his work Identité? (Identity?).
In 2005 he won a scholarship with the Visa pour la Création (Passport for Creation) programme which was organized by AFAA/Afrique en Créations.
In 2004 Léki Dago obtained a distinction from the Critical Photography French Kodak Price with his work Le train du Négus (The Negus Train) done in Djibouti and Ethiopia in 2001.
His work is part of several collections in Europe and the US, among them Galeries Photo- Fnac in France, the Fundacio Villa Casas in Spain, the Foundation Siadika Dokolo in Angola, and the Studio Museum in Harlem, NY, USA.
