1st Oshana Film Festival, 17-21 March 2017 2017 AfricAvenir hosts the Oshana Film Week in Oshakati, Ongwediva and Ondangwa in Northern Namibia.
Opening film:The train of salt and sugar, by Licínio Azevedo, Mozambique, at Epic Cinema, in Ongwediva. Tickets for the opening film. Rest of movies ENTRANCE FREE. Film: "Noem my Skollie/ Call me thief", by Daryne Joshua, South Africa Film: "Sins of Flesh", by Khaled El Hagar, from Egypt Film: "The President", Jean-Pierre Bekolo, from Cameroon, in Ongwediva Film: "The Power Stone", Namibian documentary by Andrew Botelle, followed by a panel discussion. This true story follows the journey of a sacred stone belonging to the Kwanyama people of northern Namibia and southern Angola. The Entrance is free! Film: "VAYA", by Akin Omotoso, South Africa Film: "Jogo de Corpo", by Richard Pakleppa, in Ondangwa Closing night:The Unseen, by Perivi Katjavivi, Namibia, at the Sam Nujoma Multi Purpose Centre in Ongwediva, at 7pm
