Tim Buchanan is a self taught painter and one of the most prominent visual artists in the Cook Islands today. He is one of only a handful of full time artists in the country, He is strongly influenced by traditional Polynesian motifs which he has developed into a unique contemporary style.
Six years ago, Tim resigned from being an arts coordinator at the Ministry of Cultural Development to pursue a career as a full time painter. In that time he has established himself as a leading contemporary painter whose work is much sought after by visitors and locals alike.
