I'm an essayist, novelist, poet and short story writer. Perhaps by chance, hounded by ancestral aesthetics, I originated the term Yogic Realism for my writing. Sometimes we are fortunate. Yogic Realism and my work has been the focus of a doctoral dissertation. Over the course of 176 years, my more immediate ancestors have crossed oceans and rivers and hopped from continent to continent. Place, therefore, has been--and is--more than anything else, muse. Some places: Boston, Georgetown, Miami, Toronto and Tampa more than most. But every place I've lived in, or visited (physically, or mentally) has, in some way, become part of me and my work. Of course, without people, what is any place!
