British Film director.
Sarah GAVRON is a British director, born April 20, 1970.
During her studies at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in England and after graduation, the filmmaker made numerous short films that were shown internationally and won multiple awards.
She was named Best Young Director at the TV BAFTA Awards and Revelation of the Year at the Royal Television Society Awards and at the Women in Film and TV Awards for This Little Life, the Dennis Potter Award winning BBC TV film. She was also selected by Variety magazine as one of the 10 Sundance Film Festival directors to watch.
Sarah Gavron began her film career with Rendez-vous à Brick Lane, a film that earned her a BAFTA and BIFA Award nomination, as well as the Alfred Dunhill Talent Award at the London Film Festival. His feature-length documentary The Village at the End of the World was nominated for the Grierson Award and won the prestigious Margaret Mead Award.
