Ramaya Tegegne (* 1985) lives and works in Geneva. Through her performances, installations, discussions and publications, she explores the structures of domination and power in culture. She holds an MFA from HEAD in Geneva and a BA in Design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. You have obtained several residences in Paris, Rio de Janeiro, London and New York. Ramaya Tegegne is co-founder of Wages For Wages Against, an initiative that strives to improve working conditions and pay for female artists. If only a few years ago it was acceptable for female artists to create exhibitions or participate in events without being paid, today, thanks to campaigns like this, compensation has become a more common practice (although still far from universal).
