Pedro Aguilera was born in San Sebastian, Guipúzcoa, in 1977. After obtaining a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid he worked as a storyboard artist for several publicity agencies.
He attended several workshops at the Cuban School San Antonio de los Baños including Documentary filmmaking and Script writing. He
went on to write, produce and direct several short films.
He has worked in Mexico as assistant director of Carlos Reygadas in "Battle in heaven" and of Amat Escalante in "Sangre".
"La Influencia" (The influence), his first feature film, was selected on the "Quinzaine des Réalisateurs", Cannes 2007; and won "L'Âge d'or" Prize at Brussels Cinedecouvertes Festival, 2007.
"La Influencia" has been present in many other festivals such as; Montreal, Thessalónica, London BFI, San Sebastian, Buenos Aires Bafici, Punta del Este - Uruguay, Tübingen…
