Moroccan ScreenWriter, Director and Producer.
Najat Jellab was born in Casablanca, Morocco, on 13th March 1980.
She took her preparatory classes in Paris and studied philosophy at the Sorbonne, and it was during this period that her passion for cinema emerged. Najat's interest in modern history led her first to develop an interest in the history of cinema and how a film can make striking revelations about its own era. Over time, she developed a desire to make cinema her career. In 2002, she crossed the Atlantic, moving to Montréal, where she continued her cinema studies before setting up her own production house, "Atrium Productions", in 2004. Having produced and directed several short films, she went on to co-produce a documentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, before returning to writing, a project that she continues to this day with a 15-minute short film entitled AMEL and LE FILS DE LA MER, a feature-length fiction film, for which she is also director.
