South African screenwriter, film director, and film producer.

Born in London, UK in 1986, she grew up in South Africa where she now lives. She is a filmmaker who graduated from the AFDA Film School in Cape Town. Her short film The Tunnel screened at the 2010 Berlinale, her debut feature Love the One You Love was presented at numerous international festivals. High Fantasy premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017 and screened in Generation in 2018. Together with Wanuri Kahiu, she co-wrote the coming-of-age romance Rafiki which premiered in Cannes in 2018.

Jenna Bass is a South African writer, filmmaker and former magician. Her award winning films include the short, THE TUNNEL (2010), and the collaboratively-created features LOVE THE ONE YOU LOVE (2014) and HIGH FANTASY (2017), which have screened around the world, including at the Sundance, Berlinale and Toronto Film Festivals. Together with, Wanuri Kahiu, Jenna co-wrote the coming-of-age romance, RAFIKI, which premiered in Cannes Un Certain Regard in 2018. FLATLAND (2019) is Jenna's third feature film as a director and writer.

Jenna Bass was born in South Africa. Her debut short, The Tunnel (10), screened at Sundance and was later included in the anthology Africa First: Volume One (11). She has also directed the feature Love the One You Love (14). High Fantasy (17) is her most recent film.

JENNA BASS is THE TUNNEL's writer, director, unwilling producer and general responsible person. She is a director, writer, photographer, aspiring explorer and retired magician living in Cape Town, South Africa. She says "wow" a lot, dislikes money and excel, likes tofu ice-cream and thinks werner herzog should have won the oscar.
