Jean-Daniel SIMON is a director, actor and screenwriter.
He is known for "Camp de Thiaroye" (1987, Actor).
Born in 1942 in Salon-de-Provence, he died in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Paris, France), on February 3, 2021, at the age of 79.
The last ten years of his life he lived in Dakar, Senegal.
He is co-founder of the Society of Film Directors (SRF) and of the Directors' Fortnight (Cannes FilmFest).
He had been one of the instigators of the Visions sociales film festival (Cannes).
