Tunisian cinematographer

Hazem Berrabah is a Tunisian cinematographer, working in different countries around the world. He graduated from ESEC in Paris in 2006 and has since signed the image of several feature films, short films, documentaries and TV commercials. His vision has been enriched through multidisciplinary collaborations and his approach has combined flexibility and technical rigor.

COLOR GRADING SUITE OWNER & OPERATOR
With a rich experience in post-production, Hazem Berrabah has often been called to follow-up closely his own work during the phases of VFX and to operate himself in color correction. He was formed in Paris in color grading on DaVinci Resolve and designed his own color grading suite in Tunis in the sharpest technical rigor, to finishing features, documentaries and commercials.

BIOGRAPHY
Hazem Berrabah made his first technical steps along with his father, who was a director in the 1990s in Tunisia.
Between 2004 and 2007, while studying in Paris at The Highest School of Cinematographic Studies (ESEC), and then to Sorbonne University (Paris III), he gained multiple experiences as a gaffer, and a cinematographer in short movies and has also been a TV cameraman in notorious programs of French TV ("Les guignols de l'info", Canal + and other TV programs directed by Serge Khalfon and Jean-Louis Cap).
Since 2007, he evolved as a cinematographer in Tunisia and in other Arab countries, working on several award-winning short movies and documentaries (along Nacer Khémir side).
Between 2009 and 2012, he continues on this path and collaborates with contemporary dance choreographers and visual artists (such as Hervé Sika, Maflohé Passadouet, Elsa Pernot and Radhouane Medeb...) as a lighting designer, videographer and photographer. He directs "Maj'noun", a cinema-dance essay selected in festivals of multiple countries around the world and exhibits his photos of bodies in movement, in Tunis and Dubai.
Since 2012, Hazem Berrabah is settled in Tunis and works in different other countries. He mainly focused on cinematography and signed the photography of many features in Tunisia, Algeria and France from independent contemporary projects (like "ISOLA" directed by Fabianny Deschamps, selected in ACID - Cannes 2016), to war films (such as "Le Puits" directed by Lotfi Bouchouchi), and short movies (such as "In Overtime" directed by Rami Yassin, selected in Orizzonti - Venice 2014). He also occasionally signed the cinematography of some TV series (like "Achour 10" in Algeria), and other TV commercials in different African countries (Toyota, Coca-Cola, Danone, Emirates NBD, Oreedoo, Safaricom…).
Since 2014, he launched DigiColors, his own color-grading studio (DaVinci) in Tunis, where he further polished his own images improving therefore his artwork.
Through his journey, Hazem Berrabah is today armed with an eye and an artistic approach that both combine flexibility and technical rigor.
