Born in Seoul, Korea.
Studied Mass Communication at Sogang Univ. (Seoul, Korea) and received an MA in Cinema Studies at New York Univ. Returned to home country, Korea and worked as Festival Coordinator at the 1st Puchon Int'l Fantastic Film Festival. Served as Korean correspondent to Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, and worked at the Korean Film Commission, Int'l Business Dept. Shifted gears to film production and worked with critically acclaimed filmmaker Hong Sangsoo as producer in "Turning gate" (2002), "Woman is the future of man" and Lee Chang-dong's "Secret Sunshine" which received the award for Best Actress at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival Competition.
