Clarisse Muvuba Mwimbu was born in Kolwezi (Katanga, R.d.Congo) in 1982. She studied theater at the National School of Art in Kinshasa, and decided to devote herself to the cinema after a master in documentary directed by Monique Phoba, a congolese film-maker grown up in Europa. At the beginning she worked as her director-assistant, but soon after she made experience also in recitation, editing and production. He began her career as director with the documentary Les fils de la vie et de la mort (2007). Olongo (2012), her third short film, was presented at the Fespaco 2013.

Si diploma in teatro alla Scuola Nazionale d'Arte di Kinshasa e decide di dedicarsi al cinema dopo aver seguito un corso di documentario condotto da Monique Phoba, cineasta congolese cresciuta in Europa. Ne diventa la sua assistente alla regia, ma successivamente allarga le sue esperienze anche alla recitazione, al montaggio e alla produzione. Esordisce alla regia con il documentario Les fils de la vie et de la mort (2007). Olongo (2012), il suo terzo cortometraggio, è stato presentato al Fespaco 2013. She is the festival Director of Cinef (Women FilmFest, Kinshasa) established in 2014.
