Amawumbo dance company is a proffesional outfit with highly talented dancers majoring in contemporary and traditional productions. The company created to encourage youths to express their creativity through dance and the arts. It began as a community organisation but has since grown into a fully professional dance company known for its its rich cultural diversity, and high-level of artistic excellence in contemporary and traditional dances,the company has performed locally and internationally
Founded by Alexander Mhlanga the Artistic Director in 1999 as Izintombi dance ensemble as part of a school project in Njube Bulawayo Zimbabwe.
In year 2000 changed name to Amawumbo dance company ,with different aims and objectives the dance company grew to greater heights ,collaboration with different artforms has set the dance company into a world class
