First, a brief report about the exploits of Devi, an illiterate, self- appointed "lawman" who during the years 1999-2000 organised the lynching of about one hundred thieves, with the passive complicity of the authorities. Then follows a fictionalised account entitled "Peur sur Arribana" (Fear on Arribana) set in an African capital where corruption permeates the government and the police who work hand in hand with the Mafia. The story centres around a young woman who father has been murdered in the street. She discovers the complicity of the judge and police force with the assassins. She sets out to avenge the death of her father.
