Ali and Mohamed, two sixty-year-old moroccan men, are witnessing the boarding of a coffin into to plane that is going to Morocco. The deceased was one of their friends. While Mohamed still works on a construcution yard and raises his daughter on his own, Ali on the other hand has a few days left until he leaves the residence he lives in. He refuses to join a retirement home, as he believes his life in France has to come to an end, and wants to go live the rest of his life in Morocco. This painful decision forces Ali to leave his exile companion Mohamed and to go through a second uprooting.

An intermediate version of Salam can also be found. The editing was stopped in 1999 and it was kept as a vhs copy. It is 36mins long and has no credits.
