Two young North Africans living in a large urban estate of the Paris region. One of them is deaf-mute, the neighbor is interested in the other one, Djamal, although she accuses him of stealing. She is wrong though, Djamal and his friend's profits come from selling objects salvaged in buildings being demolished. Then comes a Fine Arts student and her boyfriend who rides with her on his motorcycle but she likes Djamal better. One night, jealous, Djamal burns the boyfriend's motorcycle. Someone waits for him while holding a rifle.
