Jews and Arabs of Morocco preserved with fervour and passion the treasures of their common musical patrimony inherited from the blessed era of the tolerant and convivial Andalusia as it was before 1492. The Matruz, litterally "embroidered piece", is a musical genre that perfectly illustrates this coexistence. Performed on the modes of the Andalusian noubas, the Matruz is a song composed of verses both in Hebrew and in Arabic. Rabbi Haïm Louk and Abdelsadek Chekara render with fervour this repertory in front of an enthusiastic audience.
