Under the unforgiving desert sky, two warring leaders come face to face.
The victorious Nesib, Emir of Hobeika, lays down his peace terms to his rival Amar, Sultan of Salmaah. The two men agree that neither can lay claim to the area of no man's land between them called The Yellow Belt. In return, Nesib will adopt Amar's two boys Saleeh and Auda as a guarantee that neither man can invade the other.
Twelve years later, Saleeh and Auda have grown into young men. Saleeh, the warrior, itches to escape his gilded cage and return to his father's land. Auda cares only for books and the pursuit of knowledge. One day, their adopted father Nesib is visited by an American from Texas. He tells the Emir that his land is blessed with oil and promises him riches beyond his wildest imagination.
Nesib imagines a realm of infinite possibility, a kingdom with roads, schools and hospitals all paid for by the black gold beneath the barren sand. There is only one problem. The precious oil is located in the Yellow Belt.
The stage is now set for an epic showdown for control of the Yellow Belt, for control of the two kingdoms, for control of the future.

تحت سماء صحراوية قاسية، يتقابل زعيمان متحاربان وجهاً لوجه. المنتصر نسيب، أمير حبيقة، يفرض شروطه الخاصة بالسلام على منافسه عمار، سلطان سلمة. ويتعهد الرجلان بأن لا يقوم أي منهما بالتعدي على الأراضي غيرالمأهولة الممتدة بين مملكتيهما والتي تسمى منطقة"الحزام الأصفر". في مقابل ذلك، يقوم نسيب بتبني ولدي عمار، صالح وعودة كضمانة من أجل التزام كل منهما بعدم التعدي على الآخر.
بعد ١٢ عاماً يكبر صالح وعودة ويصبحا شابين. يتلهف صالح، المحارب، إلى الهرب من قفصه المذهب والعودة إلى أرض والده. أما عودة فلا يهتم سوى بالكتب والسعي وراء تحصيل المعرفة. يزور شخص أميركي من ولاية تكساس في أحد الأيام والدهما بالتبني نسيب، ويخبره أن أرضه مباركة بنعمة النفط ويعده بثراء يتخطى حدود خياله.
في هذه المنطقة الصحراوية، تعود الأوضاع إلى سابق عهدها بعد اكتشاف النفط في الصحراء القاحلة، وتبدأ الصراعات مجدداً من أجل إحكام السيطرة على المنطقة وعلى الثروات العامرة فيها.
تراود نسيب تخيلات عن عالم لا متناه من الإمكانيات، ومملكة تمتد فيها الطرقات وتنتشر المدارس والمستشفيات والتي يمكن تمويلها جميعاً من عائدات الذهب الأسود المدفون تحت الصحراء القاحلة. لكن هناك مشكلة واحدة: هذا النفط الذي لا يقدر بثمن موجود في منطقة"الحزام الأصفر"
وهكذا يبدأ الإعداد من أجل مواجهة ملحمية للسيطرة على"الحزام الأصفر"، وبالتالي على المملكتين، تمهيداً للسيطرة على المستقبل

Adaptación de la clásica novela de aventuras épica'The Great Thirst' firmada por Hans Ruesch que trata sobre el boom del petróleo en la Arabia de 1930, y la rivalidad que esto desata entre los dos emires árabes a los que dan vida Banderas y Strong. Su verdadero protagonista, no obstante, es el Príncipe Auda (Rahim), un héroe dividido entre dos padres, dos amores, dos opciones, y un destino.
