Our mission is to use cinema and culture to bring an international exhibition to Liberia.

The Journey Home Film Festival is a celebration of Liberian and African cinema that takes place annually in Monrovia, Liberia. Our mission is to present the best of Liberian and African cinema, Promote the growth of the local film industry and foster cultural exchanges between Liberia and the rest of the world.

Our festival presents a wide range of films, including feature and short films, documentaries, animations and experimental works, all created by talented filmmakers from Liberia and across the African continent. We present films that tell compelling stories, highlight important issues and offer new perspectives on the world around us.

In addition to film screenings, we offer workshops, roundtables and networking opportunities that bring together filmmakers, industry professionals and film enthusiasts to exchange ideas, collaborate on projects and build relationships. We also host the Liberian Film Awards, which celebrate actors, actresses, producers, filmmakers, sound engineers, soundtrack creators, local video-makers and filmmakers for their outstanding contributions to Liberian cinema.

The Journey Home Film Festival is proud to be a platform for the promotion and growth of Liberian and African cinema, and we are committed to supporting the next generation of filmmakers as they tell their stories and shape the future of cinema in Liberia and beyond.
