Moroccan Filmmaker and scholar.

Born in 1966 in Casablanca,Morocco. After Baccalaureate in Humanities in Casablanca, Selma Bargach obtains a PhD in Arts and Sciences of Arts, majoring in Audiovisual. She collaborates on establishing a documentary and research centre, known as Aouchem, on the Maghreb Arts. She works as audiovisual manager at the ONA Foundation. Her film credits include a good number of experimental shorts as well as two short fictionals.

SELMA BARGACH
Selma Bargach was born in Casablanca. She studied in the Sorbonne, art and the experimental cinema. She carried out her first short films into super 8 and at the same time she took part in the creation of a resource centre and research on arts of the Maghreb. The ONA offered her to join the foundation in order to constitute the funds audio-visual and be in charge of the programming. She obtained her doctorate on the subject of the "statute and the role of the woman in the Moroccan cinema". Back to Morocco, she is back first of all an assistant director with large Moroccan and foreign directors. Later, she carried out short films of fiction very quickly noticed. Her first full-length film THE FIFTH STRING (2018) has been selected in several festivals in the world and obtained a lot of prizes. She was vice president of the URAM - Union of Moroccan film directors. Her new feature INDIGO (2018) is a drama.
