Omar BAKRY is an actor, filmmaker, Painter, Poet, Playwright.

He is known for ABDO & SANEYA (2024 | Director, Screenwriter, Actor), HIS MAN (2014), AGGRESSION (2008).


Writer-director Omar Bakry studied fine arts at Cairo University, graduating in 2001. In 2007 he moved to New York to study film directing, fiction and short-story writing at private colleges including the School of Visual Arts and New York Film Academy. He continues to live and work in New York, where he is currently attending the Roger Simon Hendricks Studios.

Omar Bakry is a NYC based writer that is not defined by any one culture. Bakry brings a global fusion to his stories and reflects a hard earned awareness of the fragility and toughness of the human condition.

Born, 1976 in Sweden, raised in Egypt, he attended the Faculty of Fine Arts (Cairo University), graduating with a BA in Fine Arts. In 2007 he moved to New York to pursue film and Theatre, studying screenwriting in school of Visual Arts and New York Film Academy. He and his wife [Inji EL GAMMAL] started Timewormz production company in 2014. He took "Fiction and Short Story Writing" and "Advanced Fiction Writing" courses with Dr. Alaa Al Aswany. He is part of the Roger Simon Hendricks Studio as a writer/director. He is currently a member of The Actors Studio Playwright Director Unit.
