Njee is a Kenyan born jewellry artist, a maasai to be precise. He studied fine arts in Maryland, where he met artists from New Orleans and Alabama whose main tradition was making ornaments from cutlery which later took him 4 years to develop his style. Njee's grandfather was a Maasai jewellery artist who made his jewellery out of traditional beads and so he sees his profession as a motivation from his grandparents.
Njee makes bracelets, rings, pendants and earings using silver and gold forks, knives and spoons. Njee creates his collection handmade sparked by mastering the art work with simplest tools without use of heat or machinery.
His pieces exhibit free form shapes that he achieves by hand cutting hammering polishing with the finest grade of sand paper and use of natural light. Each art work is done with much proficiency and attention to detail which is the key element, all his pieces are always signed by him.
