Joel Vicent Joseph (born 31 March 1985), professionally known as Mr Joel Joseph, is a Tanzanian musician, talent manager, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Puaz Music Records.
Joseph began his involvement in music in 2002 as a dancer. He released his first single, "Sweet Baby," in 2004, which received limited attention. He later produced "Kila Wakati" and "Usiku Wa Leo," featuring Eddy G and Structure P, which brought him wider recognition. These tracks were recorded at Grandmaster Records studio in Arusha.
Raised in a low-income household with limited formal education, Joseph used his early musical skills to earn income and further developed his abilities at Marangu Secondary School in 2004.
In 2016, he took on the role of manager for Tanzanian hip-hop artist Shetta, gaining professional experience and establishing a reputation in the country's music industry. Two years later, in 2018, he joined WCB Wasafi, one of Tanzania's largest record labels owned by Diamond Platnumz, as the artist manager for Harmonize, the label's first signed act. His contributions during this period enhanced his standing as a leading talent manager in East Africa.
Expanding into entrepreneurship, Joseph launched Puaz Shop and Puaz Music Records in March 2021. The brands oversee his merchandise and music projects, with products intended for distribution across Africa, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. Reflecting on his inspiration, Joseph stated:
"I have seen major brands such as Prada, Gucci, Covaych, and Louis Vuitton make an impact in their communities, and I saw an opportunity to present our tradition and culture in a fashionable way."
