Cynthia Ellis was born in Trinidad. She is a self-taught artist specializing in watercolours. Most of her formal training was obtained at Bishop's Anstey High School. It was her work in Servol in 1985 with pre-school children that revived the spark of art which had remained dormant since her school days. She loves flowers and foliage and enjoys painting from live specimens. She has the ability to capture the fragile, delicate and finest details of her subjects.
Heeding the advise of the late Noel Vaucrossen, she studied the flower paintings of other artists and used the best materials that she could afford.
