In an imaginary country in Africa, the editor of a magazine called "The voice of the people" is arrested and sentenced to six month in prison for advocating crime, an unjustified and shameful sentence. After serving his sentence, he is expelled from university, so he goes to live abroad to finish his studies. When he goes back to his country, many things have changed : ideology, philosophy, even life. Ironu, whose ideal is to use his competences to serve his country, will be once again not be wanted. He will be arrested and tortured again.
