SIYAYA Arts last week celebrated its 25th anniversary in style in a red carpet event held at Bulawayo theatre.
The event, graced by artistes and other socialites, kicked off with a cocktail party.
The group's director Simon Mambazo Phiri said the event was meant to thank Bulawayo people for supporting them from humble beginnings.
"We are grateful to Bulawayo for supporting us. We have come a long way in the arts industry because people did not believe that art is work for us, but we are happy that now people appreciate who we are," Phiri said.
Siyaya's 25th anniversary will be celebrated over five days through one of the latest productions Zambezi Express.
Phiri said they chose Zambezi Express because it was one of their best productions that made them realise huge profits.
"This is the most meaningful production that we have produced, we have realised profits from it. That is why we decided to celebrate with Zambezi Express," he said.
The production showcasing trains, the beauty of Africa and Zimbabwe is a tale of a young man from Mzilikazi who tries to convince his father that he can earn a living through soccer.
The world-class production wowed fans.
