Call for papers - The UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions: ten years after its adoption, issues and challenges for cultural policies of States?

Context
The Conference will mark the 10th anniversary of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions adopted in October 2005 by UNESCO's General Conference. It will allow for a review of the Convention's achievements and to identify challenges State Parties should consider in the coming years, especially given the current issues and the multiplicity of referentials that are questioning current cultural policies. The Conference will involve national and international interveners, will foster exchanges between established and emerging researchers, policymakers and civil society stakeholders who, in the past 15 years, have collaborated in giving effect to the international legal instrument.
Themes
A researcher from the new generation will be selected for each of the following panel.
Submissions placing emphasis on exemplary projects, digital issues and economic development as themes cutting across the following panels will be favoured:
Format
20 minute oral presentations in French or English followed by an exchange session with participants. Each panel will be composed of two established university researchers, one from Canada and one international, one university researcher from the new generation and one civil society representative.

Travel Grant
Grants worth $2,000 CAD each are being offered by the Centre de la Francophonie des Amériques only for researchers from the Americas residing outside the province of Quebec (United States, Caribbean, Latin America, Canada) who are sufficiently proficient in French.
