Mohamed Hazim born October 1, 1951 in Sidi Bel Abbès in Algeria, is an Algerian actor.
Mohamed Hazim began his artistic career in the theater in the neighboring wilaya of Mascara during the 60s (at the age of 15). Then, and in the 70s, he studied theater at the Municipal Conservatory of Oran. He will then travel several theater stages where he will perform, notably in the humorous register, his favorite field.
The real start of his career was with "Bila Houdoud" in the 90s, which made him one of the most important stars of comedy in Algeria. The story of Mohamed Hazim is closely linked to that of this trio undoubtedly the most famous of the comedy produced by Algerian television. A trio that, on television or on stage, had made Algerians laugh during the black decade, in the 1990s. The broadcast of the sitcom during the months of Ramadan of these years of violence made viewers forget the tragic daily life of the civil war that they lived daily at the time.
The trio composed of Mustapha Himoun, Hamid Chenine, Mohamed Hazim, became famous throughout Algeria for its sarcastic lines, its burlesque dances, after the launch of the sitcom Bila Houdoud by the regional station of Oran in 1992. In addition to sketches, the Bila Houdoud trio distinguished itself by the comic dubbing in Algerian Arabic of American films and series. Great success at the time.
Mohamed Hazim had suffered from heart failure since 2004. His case worsened in the last months of his life with a long hospitalization. Despite his fatigue and illness, Mohamed Hazim played a role in the sitcom في التسعين, directed by Mourad Kalai and Abdelkader Djeriou, broadcast by Echourouk TV during Ramadhan 2022 where he in episode number 2 dances to the rhythm of the song "Rani Medmar" by Houari Benchenet in a wedding party alongside his traveling companions, Mustapha Himoun (Ghir hak) and Hamid Chenine with whom he had formed the Oran comedy trio, Bila Houdoud in the 1990s.
This painful laughter, Algeria, which defeated terrorism and religious extremism, has never forgotten it. "The Bila Houdoud trio was the fuel of the resistance against those who wanted to sow despair and frustration in the souls of Algeria," testified Brahim Seddiki during a tribute evening in July 2016 at the Oran International Festival of Arab Film (FIOFA).
During his forty-year career, Mohamed Hazim and the Bila Houdoud troupe will travel throughout Algeria, tour in France and the United States. He will have to his credit many films, sketches and sitcoms such as "Haraga", "Boudaou" and "Dar El Djiran" and many other appearances on the small screen.
