Anju Priest

Anju Priest a beaming reggae artiste with much will to take on the world and is set to make his imprint permanent.

Born Andrew Dave Elliott, Anju Priest's musical journey had its genesis in the church where at age 13 the pulpit became his first stage. Growing up in a Christian home Anju was drawn to the church choir where he had the opportunity to exercise his musical gift at concerts and Sunday services.

His big break came in 1991 when he entered the Popular Song Contest, with Price Gone Up. The song gained notoriety as a social commentary on the economic conditions of the time and resonated with the people who saw it as "reality".

From Festival artiste Priest moved on to engagements on local shows such as Reggae Sumfest, Rebel Salute, Culture Shack, and Bob Marley Birthday Celebration where he opened for the I -Threes. He has also performed on the international stage at Reggae Rama in Winnipeg Canada and as backing vocalist for Maxi Priest on the Maxi World Tour, exclusively around the world in countries like Europe, Africa, South and North America.
