Neema is a daughter, a sister, a friend and a proud aunt. I love my family; they keep me grounded and always have faith in me. I grew up in Dar-es Salaam, Tanzania with my brothers, sisters and cousins. I moved to Columbus, Ohio in 2009 to study and chase big dreams. I am an accounting and financial management majors; I love the mystery in numbers. I hope to one day be a financial analyst. I love African, Jamaican, Mexican and Chinese food (except frog legs) and find it hard to stick to a diet. I love literature. I remember reading The Torn Veil by Danquah Mabel, and feeling like writing could really give a voice to those without any. When it comes to poetry, I love Shakespeare and hip hop. In my free time I like to dance and sing (in the shower), watching movies and reading. I'm an ordinary girl that wishes to make a difference one day. That wishes to be remembered long after she is gone. I met pen and paper when I was 12 years old and they became my best friend. Through writing I found my release and freedom. I found that peaceful place I could go and be completely me, without fear of being left out or laughed at.
