Leonard Okwale (Epupi)

Leonard Okware Epupi an is the Lights Technicain at the Uganda National Cultural Centre and National theatre since 1987.  He has greatly contributed to the UNCC 's technical operations through his diligent performance.
Okware began as a stage crew (stage hand) in 1984, sound man in 1986, in 1987, lighting technician in 1994 and lighting technician /Ag stage manager from 2003. He has hand on experience in stage lighting and theatre works.  Apart from his technical background in electricity, he has much of the time spent his life in stage lighting and in addition, he  has also served in the capacity of Ag. Stage manager for more than five years in Uganda National Theatre.  Okware has numerous production he has served as the Lights designer and technician such productions include Mother Courage, Nalukalala ne zadde lye, Silent Voices, dance productions and musical concerts. He has received specialized training at Bagamoyo College of Arts, Tanzania, courtesy of the East Africa Theatre Insitite-EATI. He is now a graduate of Performing Arts from  Makerere University.
