The Women In Art Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago was founded by artist, Fraulein Rudder on 18th July, 1996. She saw the need for women artists to be brought to the fore and have more exposure; thus creating an awareness of their contribution to the arts. By exploring, discovering and developing techniques, and exhibiting with the Annual Women In Art exhibition, this has been achieved over the last sixteen years under her leadership. The organization also encourages young aspiring artists through the Biennial Art Competition for Fifth and Sixth Form Art students, which was introduced in 1998 and has been quite successful through the years.
