Sri Lankan Film Director | Writer | Producer..
Suba SIVAKUMARAN (born in February 1981 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka) grew up in five countries. She has a undergraduate degree from the London School of Economics and a Master's degree from Harvard University in politics and public policy. I TOO HAVE A NAME / Enakkum Oru Per (2011) is her first film (11 mins, premiered at Dubai 2011 and in competition at the 62nd Berlinale). House of My Fathers is her first feature film (Open Doors Hub, Locarno 2016, Sri Lanka · Color · 95').
Suba SIVAKUMARAN co-written and codirected L'OISEAU BLEU with Tunisian Rafik Omrani, short narrative shot in Tunisie, a part of collective film TUNISIA FACTORY (2018, Cannes Film Festival and released in Tunisian Movies Theaters), along with Imen Cherif, Nacib Barhoumi, Aymen Omrani, Sadok Boufehja, Hamdi Hadda and Mourad Gharsalli as main cast.
In 2011, she founded Palmyrah Talkies, a film production company based in the UK and in Sri Lanka producing narrative and documentary features and shorts around the world. Suba SIVAKUMARAN currently resides between New York, London and Sri Lanka.
