Burundese Filmmaker, Screenwriter and Festival Director.

She has co-written and directed the short narative The Sixth Commandment / Le sixième commandement (2012), whose public screening was first banned by the Burundese authorities, then moved the audience and the diplomatic missions in Bujumbura. Dealing with the phenomenon of sects, the film won the Best Editing Award (National Competition), at Festival du Cinéma Africain au Burundi - FESTICAB 2013 ; The Sixth Commandment was also selected at My Film Festival 2013, in Italy.
Francine MUNYANA is the Festival Director at FESTICAB (Burundi International Film and Audiovisual Festival), Bujumbura.
