Now in its forth year, Maketi Ples – the contemporary Pacific islands art exhibition and 'market place' – is based at Global Gallery, Paddington. With pieces from seven Pacific Island nations, the gallery's collection features some of the most exciting contemporary visual art, textiles and 3-D artisan works from around the region.
Maketi is the Samoan word for Market and Ples is the Papua New Guinean word for Place (in Tokpisin).
