In the shade of the flames, in a makeshift camp in the Sahara, a group of women from the four corners of Algeria in search of survival work, are victims, one night, of a real expeditious descent. "They broke down the door of my house, there were ten of them, they beat me. They melted a plastic bottle on my body. Then they dragged me outside. They raped me," Selma would later tell in court, in front of her torturers... Once the crime is judged, Selma and her friends in distress return to their families, where they find, for the most part, the door closed... Reconstructing the present that has shattered a group of women with tear-filled bodies, so as not to forget the future... The film, directly inspired by a recent news item, is a manifesto against complacent silence. Fiction drawn from the terrible affair of Hassi Messaoud in 2001. The film recounts this drama that occurred in 2001 when 39 women were lynched and raped in the town of Hassi Messaoud. Their mistake was to go and look for work to earn a dignified living. This serious incident that shook the national consciousness found a beautiful echo in the cinema. The director warns: "My film is not a documentary, it is a fiction that requires an artistic reading above all." With Rym Takoucht, Samia Meziane, Hadjla Khelladi, Faïza Louail Production: Procom International Co-production: ENTV
