They are the dogs… tells the story of Majhoul, an old man that has been taken away in 1981 during "the bread's strike", a massive demonstration asking for reforms and change in the kingdom. He has been released in 2011, 30 years later, and has to come to terms with the new reality of things, the evolution of society and technology as well as his place among this new state of things. A television team made up of a journalist, an operator and an intern will cross path with Majhoul, making his quest of finding his family and therefore rebuilding a life in the "now" the subject of a film piece and a mutual goal.

They are the dogs… is a radiography of nowadays Morocco that contemplates the question of what place Arab citizens occupy in a modern world in constant evolution.

Los perros son ellos… cuenta la historia de Majhoul, un anciano al que apresaron en 1981 durante "la revuelta del pan", cuando el pueblo salió a la calle pidiendo reformas para un cambio profundo en el Reino de Marruecos. Es liberado 30 años después, en 2011, cuando estalla la primavera árabe. Debe enfrentarse a una nueva realidad, a una sociedad cambiada, a la evolución tecnológica, y encontrar su lugar en el mundo actual. Un equipo de televisión compuesto por un periodista, un cámara y un becario se cruza con Majhoul y hace suya la búsqueda de su familia y el intento de reconstruir su vida en el "ahora", transformándolo en un reportaje.

Los perros son ellos… es una radiografía del Marruecos actual en la que se plantea saber cuál es el lugar del ciudadano árabe en un mundo moderno en constante evolución.
