The film addresses the question of honor and asks what some might consider sensitive, shocking or even taboo: Does a female's honor reside in her virginity? If so, what is the notion of male honor? A woman who has lost her virginity before marriage is punished socially and by her family, sometimes by death, while, at the same time, a lenient eye is cast upon a man if he does the same.
