Mississippi Blues is a ballad; a ballad through a country clinging to its history, its roots, its past, but also eager to change, to shake up its structures and prejudices. A mythical country for us French: the old South, Mississippi. With his friend Robert Parrish, and thanks to him, Bertrand Tavernier went to capture the music of the South, in the places where it was born, where it breathes. This music where you can feel violence, misery, dignity... and humour all at the same time.
