In the melting pot of Kinshasa, hundreds of Chinese expatriates are changing the face of the Congolese capital. It has become apparent that Africa has reached a turning point in its history: the continent's antiquated, inflexible relationship with the West has been replaced by partnerships between developing nations, full of economic promise, but fraught with danger too. Mirroring these figures, we also hear from African Whites: former colonials and expatriate businessmen nostalgic for a lost golden age and unhappy to see Africa's cards being redealt.
