Juba II is a Berber king of Mauritania. Son of Juba Iᵉʳ, born around 52 BC in Hippo in Numidia, in present-day Annaba in Algeria and died around 23 AD in Tipaza, Algeria. Juba II was raised in Rome in a gilded captivity by Octavia, the sister of the future emperor Augustus.
