In the 1970s, Moroccan schoolboys and students dreamed of freedom and democracy. Severe police crackdowns on dissent and wide arbitrary arrests, detention, secret prisons have branded the decade as the ‘years of lead'. A number of activists lived in clandestinity. Aziz was twenty-three years old at the time, he was lonely and carried a false identity for two years before he was identified and arrested.
