Femmes d'Islam, a trilogy of 52-minute reports, shows the daily life of women living today in France and in countries of Islamic culture in a variety of ways, beyond any political amalgamation or recuperative ideology. Men used the sacred to legitimize their privileges. In the land of Islam, pre-existing customs, Koranic provisions, and restrictive interpretations were superimposed to limit women's rights. Reduced to their only social behavior, which they mimed from mother to daughter, they perpetuated, along with their misfortune, the tribute that Muslim women paid to tradition at the expense of their flesh and blood. This trilogy is intended as a strong message to women. The real change will come from them.
