The women who set out from sub-Saharan countries for Libya and Europe and become stranded in the desert city of Agadez in Niger feel like exiles (EXILÉES) and outcasts. The film is dedicated to Priska, a refugee who made it to the North African coast but drowned on the boat trip across the Mediterranean.

Priska and Gift are both at different stages of their migration, two psychologically different stages. To continue or To return home. But how do you return when you have survived too much violence. When your whole family is waiting for you to offer them a better life through your exile. Why go back when for several years you have never told the reality of your daily life. So they go on their way, death in the rear-view mirror.

In 2019, the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Tunis, in collaboration with the foundation's offices in Dakar, Dar-es-Salaam and Johannesburg, invited ten filmmakers from various African countries to grapple with the topic of migration from a southern perspective through short films, with the overarching title ‘10 views on migration'. Director Ager Oueslati and coordinator Hildegard Kiel from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation will present four films from this project. (Total length: 69 min)
