Young people question customs and privileges in a village. Pierre, a young peasant, decides to alternate cotton farming and market gardening to make his farm profitable. He faces issues with water supplying but cannot take decisions on his own, so he creates an agricultural cooperative with other young people so they can think about the issues of single-crop farming and the shortage of water. This attitude outrages the elders. Adama, leader of the village, along with the other elders, will eventually accept it as the survival of the villages depends on it.
