BIOGRAPHY
Arrived from Congo in her ninth year, Clarisse spends a part of her childhood in province and then come to the main city.
She discovers reggae with Peter Tosh, and then ragga with Saï Saï and Puppa Leslie on Radio Nova.
Mesmerized by this music, she quickly becomes an active member of the ragga scene, singing and toasting in all parisians sound systems.
It’s in the early 90’s, in the turmoil of the sound systems flowing the capital city with a new musical style, the ragga muffin, that Clarisse reveals herself : She gets involved into music. Clarisse becomes Sista Clarisse.
Her first discographics steps match with the Hip Hop explosion, where a massive number of compilations gives the word to tomorrow’s talents.
From this period she keeps the taste of the stage performance in front of an overexcited audience in which she identifies herself but asserting her difference.
This link with the audience weaved itself spontaneously on stage, where Sista Clarisse lives on synergy with the audience.
This woman believes in the Human and in Love. Humanist, she dips in her voice the diversity of emotions to sail between harmony and chaos. A crystal with multiple sides that she re-designs at every new creation to meet us with her sweet or bitter words, strengh and fragility.
This young woman undertakes her musical style : hybrid, alchemy of mixed styles, rich of multiple influences.
Giving herself entirely to her audience, she reaches with the same ease to make the crowd jump up in the most pure Dance Hall tradition and hit the sensibility of someone with personal topics.
Overexcited on stage, aspiring to share her poetry, Sista Clarisse is in a perpetual movement, propeld by the research of a magical moment.
It’s with all of these energies and fed by ten years of musical experience, work and perseverance that Sista Clarisse, author-songwriter-performer and creator of the independant music label n-onecom, presents her new album “Fleur Sauvage” (Wild Flower).
