Malhoune signifies the "song of the dialectal word".The musical sessions, which occur "as often as the day rises" in Marrakech and in Meknes, are the living patrimony of Moroccan popular poetry... Close to classical poetry through its poetical and rhythmical prowesses, the malhoune is also the millenary expression of popular wisdom, of the hopes of Man, and the mirror of its everyday reality. The musical circle that occurs every Friday night with "the regularity of the day arising" at the place of one or the other music lovers is the opportunity to renew the repertory of this living patrimony.
